"...a fantastic, dedicated and focused ensemble of 25 talented actors. They become all the characters the four travelers meet. They are all the soldiers alive, dead and dying. They manipulate the set to create trees and guns out ropes. They sing and dance. Their very body’s and presence become the world of the play. Their collective performance is, truly, quite stunning."

EgoPo Classic Theater, Philadelphia, PA

"The Gamm's remarkable cast does full justice to this complex narrative, delivering a spellbinding performance from curtain to curtain. Clara Weishahn embodies utter efficiency as Davison, Elizabeth's newly installed secretary, until her cool facade crumbles (to hilarious effect) when the queen entrusts Davison with Mary's execution warrant. Weishahn also has a magnificent singing voice, clearly distinguishable even in the larger chorus as the cast performs "God Save the Queen." ...the cast impeccable -- this production is a crowning achievement for The Gamm."

"Sans Everything is the delightfully surprising result of over two years of theatrical labor from Providence’s Strange Attractor Theatre and Philadelphia’s Lightning Rod Special. No single playwright credit is listed because the play has been built collaboratively from the ground up by the two groups. Their work is fashioned from a single theme into an ensemble-led, ensemble-designed and fully staged evening of lively storytelling.

The group’s sense of discovery and wonderment feels truly genuine – and is also very, very funny ... their personal connection to the material truly shines. It is like that family story that has been told again and again at gatherings. It has been embellished over the years until it grows into a finely honed yarn that everyone knows the details to and even still, everyone delights in the telling. And of course, nailing the punchline."

"Suffice it to say that what seems like a loose, almost improvisational romp is carefully crafted (Rebecca Noon directs) and Clara Weishahn (recently seen at both The Gamm and Wilbury Group) has a large and beautifully eerie part in all of this. While the twins give us the most sublimely uncomfortable dance moves since Little Miss Sunshine, Weishahn’s performance is ethereal, hilarious and intensely creepy all at once. Idle is a gem and audience members feel as if they’ve been let in on a precious secret that few will ever share."

"The actors’ physicality is especially impressive, with Weishahn as the stand-out performer on this point. Her Jane Lambert is capable of only wordless vocalizing, so it’s the way she uses her body to express her despair and terror that resonates so powerfully. An entirely lineless scene with Estrella’s Bell is the emotional climax of the production."

"...a sparkling ensemble of some of the area's best working actors. While it's truly an ensemble piece, it's impossible not to point to Clara Weishahn as the standout and the one who holds it all together. Weishahn is just so good that she could turn watching paint dry into an entertaining and fascinating character study. "First and foremost are the two actresses, Melissa Penick as Mary and Clara Weishahn as Sharon. If these two aren't lifelong best friends offstage, then they have fooled everyone, because their chemistry and bond onstage is astonishingly real. With D'Amour's writing and Short's directing helping them out, Penick and Weishahn are a flawless team onstage and both deliver wonderful performances.

They're also a great contrast in styles, with Penick's Mary all internal energy and under the surface tension, while Weishan's Sharon is much more external, all flailing arms and boundless excitement. It is a pleasure to watch these two actresses work together."

"Powerful, haunting...the playwright’s simple yet profound speech, coupled with precise direction and four equally extraordinary performances, results in a highly-charged, unforgettable stage event... Cordelia, King Lear (2009)
Portland Actors Ensemble

"Weishahn has a lot to balance in her leading role and she does a wonderful job. Her character’s success is based entirely upon the princess’ ability to think quickly. Conveying quick thinking on stage can be hard as the actor is constantly mindful of what will come next. But Weishahn never seems to speak by rote. Instead, she maintains a presence on stage that is received as natural and spontaneous. Additionally, in her many love scenes she uses her entire face, most notably her eyes, to enchant her objects of affection.”
